Today Joseph left for his grandparents’ house for a short visit with his dad. I had the entire house to myself which meant I talked to mom and dad for a long time on iSight, cleaned the house, and walked to the art museum. Yesterday Joseph and I walked around and spent some time amongst the art. There is a nice “discovery library” in the European art wing that is a typical library you would see in some British explorer’s manor house (this is of course in my imagination)
There are oil paintings in gilded frames, Egyptian sarcophagus, sculptures, leather lounge chairs, books, and warm lighting. I was so welcomed by the learning space that I went there today to write all my lesson plans for the next week. It is inspiring to work in that environment and easier to get my work done. Tonight I’m going to cook some dinner (for one, sad) and watch The F Word. Back to work tomorrow, but at least I feel much better - no more headaches!
Check out Flickr for our newest photographs from the weekend. I’ll explain Frozen Dead Guy Days in my next post.
